Sneak Peak

NEW Land of Nipigon Adventure Guide website!

Website: www.nipigon.com

2019 will mark a full re-branding and re-invention of the Land of Nipigon Adventure Guide and supported resources.

Conceived years ago as a one-stop source for information to the travelling and local public on what’s available here in the way of things to do and businesses. Starting as a series of hunting and fishing maps with highly localised content in 2015/2016 the concept has grown to a full 56-page book, dozens of themed localised maps and even into GPS enabled Smartphone maps and information that anyone can download and run on their smartphones.

The content of the guidebook and website includes necessary business directories, places to eat/sleep and what to do in the region. History and geology of the local and regional levels. Day trip suggestions and information, detailed maps and of course a large fishing resource area. The coming year will see the addition of more content and entirely new edible and medicinal plant/mushroom content that was collected and documented during the summer of 2018. This will expand the berry picking, wild edible food and medicinal plant tourism and knowledge to the area.

2019 Changes

Main Page:
Direct linking to the most popular content as well as immediate access to digital downloads. Other websites – mybackyard.ca (Gardening, foraging, wild mushrooms), nwoutdoors.ca (Maps, regional outdoor resources and information) and nipigonriver.com (localised Nipigon fishing information and resources) will all have integrated content within the site.

Trails:
Completely re-worked into its own section.
Each official trail will be separate with descriptions and information with direct access to download and print as well as GPS Enabled Smartphone maps of the trail systems in Nipigon/Red Rock, Kama as well as the entire Casque Isle system and area. These maps show not only the trails but reference additional information and things to see/do in the area.

Adventures:
The core of the information includes information and resources for trip ideas and things to do like berry picking, or perhaps a drive along the Nipigon River. Adventures themselves are being expanded to cover more of the region and also to make the information more readily accessible.

Fishing:
Expansion of the core information including additional fishing locations region-wide, specific information for shore/boat fishing as well as more fish! The other fishing information is being implemented directly into the appropriate maps and consolidated into one massive list/resource.

Resources:
The resources section is being grown to more completely represent the whole region with businesses, resources (online and off) that cover the region and beyond. I am trying to include all companies in the area – If you want your business in the resource section send me an email glenn@hartspace.ca. (IT’S FREE! and consists of the website, digital downloads and even printed products).

History:
New pictures, new content and new stories on the history and locations that make up this region.

Geology:
Who doesn’t like rocks?  The geology section will include more information as to general geology as well as geological spots to see.

Events:
Each larger regional event will have a dedicated page to that event. Descriptions and information for community events are essential to attracting new visitors. If you are involved in a more significant event feel free to contact me at my email glenn@hartspace.ca

Shop:
Online shop for purchasing additional mapping products and possible souvenir related items in the coming year.

It all should be ready to roll out by the end of December 2018!
